Selznick, who proceeded to loan her out to assorted studios for trivialities like \u003ci\u003eMiracle of the Bells\u003c\/i\u003e (1947).  Typically cast as worldly-wise adventuresses of ambivalent sexual tastes, her best work during this period included her portrayal of an accused murderess in Alfred Hitchcock's \u003ci\u003eThe Paradine Case\u003c\/i\u003e (1947), Anna Schmidt in Carol Reed's \u003ci\u003eThe Third Man\u003c\/i\u003e (1949) and Countess Serpieri in \u003ci\u003eSenso\u003c\/i\u003e (1954).  Her career was temporarily stalled by an infamous sex-drug-murder scandal in 1954, but she ultimately got back on her feet, increasingly confining herself to character roles, often in horror films from 1960 onward.  Her most celebrated of these was Georges Franju's genuinely disturbing \u003ci\u003eEyes Without a Face\u003c\/i\u003e (1960), in which she played deranged Dr. Genessier's loyal, psychopathic assistant.  Other creepy efforts included \u003ci\u003eLisa and the Devil\u003c\/i\u003e (1974), \u003ci\u003eThe Antichrist\u003c\/i\u003e (1974), \u003ci\u003eSuspiria\u003c\/i\u003e (1977), \u003ci\u003eLycanthrope, Son of the Night\u003c\/i\u003e (1979), \u003ci\u003eKiller Nun\u003c\/i\u003e (1979), \u003ci\u003eInferno\u003c\/i\u003e (1980), and \u003ci\u003eFatal Frames \u003c\/i\u003e(1996).\u003c\/font\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n","brand":null,"offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43451970322641,"sku":"pwo1793134076041","price":32.4,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0673\/2372\/3985\/files\/cat-0052532-alida-valli_1.jpg?v=1793134079","url":"https:\/\/petebugzapper.shop\/products\/cat-0052532-alida-valli","provider":"My Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
